Rental conditions
Last updated: 29/10/2026
1. Purpose of the rented vehicle
The lessor delivers the vehicle to the renter in perfect condition, with all necessary documents, tyres, tools, accessories and safety equipment. The renter undertakes to look after the vehicle and drive it in accordance with the traffic rules.
2. Term and return of the vehicle
The term of the contract is as agreed and stipulated. If the renter wishes to extend the term, he must inform the lessor before it expires and obtain the lessor's prior consent, depending on the availability of the vehicle. The renter returns the rented vehicle, together with all its documents, tyres, tools, safety lights and accessories, on the date and at the place indicated. Failure to comply with this clause entitles the lessor to legally demand the return of the vehicle.
3. Use of the vehicle
The vehicle may only be driven by the renter and his fellow travellers. Drivers must hold a valid driving licence appropriate to the vehicle, and the licence must be at least two years old.
The renter uses the rented vehicle under the following conditions:
- No changes may be made to the structure of the vehicle; no roof racks, luggage and/or goods may be fixed to the roof.
- The vehicle may not be used to push or tow another vehicle or a trailer.
- The vehicle may not be used in sporting events or training of any kind, or for testing automotive materials, accessories or products.
- The vehicle and any of its parts or tools may not be transferred, sold, sublet, mortgaged or pledged.
- The vehicle may not be driven under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- The vehicle may not be driven outside the territory of mainland Spain.
- No 4x4 driving may be done with any vehicle in mountains, fields and/or off-road areas.
- The odometer may not be tampered with or unsealed, and the renter must report any damage to it. Mileage is measured with the odometer, or with road maps if it is broken.
- The renter must stop and immobilise the vehicle if he notices a fault or a warning light indicates one, and contact the lessor or its breakdown service immediately.
- The vehicle may not be used to carry passengers or goods for commercial or industrial purposes if that is not its purpose.
- Under current transport law, commercial vehicles may not be used to carry goods classified as special.
4. Payments by the renter
The renter undertakes to pay the lessor the agreed amount as the total rental price. This price includes the amounts set for time and mileage (where applicable), fuel whether contracted or not, spare parts, insurance and applicable taxes. The originally agreed rate applies provided the vehicle is returned to the agreed location. The renter pays the lessor for all damage to the vehicle and the costs related to:
- not refuelling the car when returning it;
- smoking in the car;
- damaging the interior or sitting in the car in wet swimwear;
- parking the car at Rental Cars at Alicante airport;
- not cancelling the car 14 days before arrival;
- traffic and parking fines;
- theft of the safety lights.
The renter must replace any part of the vehicle damaged or lost for reasons attributable to him. He pays the deposit needed to cover any liabilities and, in general, all amounts incurred by the lessor that arise directly from the renter's use of the vehicle and can legally be attributed to him. The lessor's costs of claiming these amounts are payable in accordance with Spanish law. The lessor reserves the right to cancel delivery of the vehicle if it has reasonable doubts about the customer's financial capacity or in case of a history of non-payment or serious incidents with Si-Cars.
5. Maintenance and repairs
The lessor bears normal mechanical wear and tear of the vehicle. Any repair carried out by the renter must be approved in advance by the lessor, and the invoice addressed to the lessor must be presented for reimbursement.
6. Insurance, accidents and theft
The renter and authorised drivers are covered by the unlimited third-party liability insurance taken out by the lessor. In the event of an accident, the renter informs the lessor immediately and completes an accident report with all details of the other party and any witnesses, to be sent to the lessor. The relevant authorities must be notified if anyone is injured. As far as possible, the renter does not leave the vehicle without taking the necessary precautions to protect it. In the event of theft, the renter reports it to the police and sends a copy to the lessor. The renter can contact the lessor by phone, email or at the lessor's postal address.
Theft and loss of personal belongings. The company is not liable for personal belongings stolen, damaged, forgotten or lost in the vehicle, nor for any resulting costs.
7. Jurisdiction
In the event of a dispute between the parties, they submit to the legally competent courts.
